This year, the Literacy Champion Award will be presented to Jaime Nix, Director of Wichita Public Libraries, and our Literacy Legacy Awards will go to Bridging the Word Gap of Kansas City, Kansas, the Kansas Children’s Cabinet in Topeka, and the Wichita Literacy Coalition. Fri., Nov 3, 9am – 4 pm:  Bridges Out of Poverty: Individual Lens Workshop, Botanica, 701 Amidon St. Workshop, featuring Treasure McKenzie, a nationally recognized consultant, presents a comprehensive framework to address poverty and its effects city wide.  FREE

Fri., Nov 3, 7 pm: CAC Theater, 1845 N Fairmount,  The Student Activities Council (SAC) sponsored Cultural Showcase celebrates the backgrounds and talents of our globally diverse student body at Wichita State! This event provides a platform for students to exhibit their talents and share the rich cultural heritage to our university community.  Cost $0+
