What Wichita Can Learn From Kansas City’s Path to Forming a Reparations Commission?
The push to establish a reparations commission in Wichita has been contentious and, so far, unsuccessful. The debate reached a boiling point last month when community advocate Mary Dean was escorted out of a city council meeting at the direction of Mayor Lily Wu after pressing for answers about the status of the ordinance she proposed to establish a Wichita reparations commission.

Recycle and Shine: Cox Offers Free Tickets to Zoo’s Wild Lights Festival
Want a free night of lights, lanterns, and magic at the Sedgwick County Zoo? Cox Communications is giving Kansans a chance to do just that — while helping the planet. From September 19–24, anyone who drops off small electronics at any of four Cox Solutions stores in the Wichita area will receive a free ticket to Wild Lights at the Sedgwick County Zoo.

A jury will look at whether Amazon tricked customers into joining Prime — and made it hard to leave. A federal trial beginning in Amazon’s hometown this week is set to examine whether the online retailing giant tricked customers into signing up for its Prime service and made it difficult to cancel after they did so. (AP News)
Trivia Answer: B. Halle Berry. Halle Berry was the first Black woman to win an Academy Award for Best Actress, receiving the honor in 2002 for her role in the film Monster’s Ball. Her historic win at the 74th Academy Awards was a significant moment, and she dedicated it to other Black women who had paved the way in Hollywood.
