Want a free night of lights, lanterns, and magic at the Sedgwick County Zoo? Cox Communications is giving Kansans a chance to do just that — while helping the planet. From September 19–24, anyone who drops off small electronics at any of four Cox Solutions stores in the Wichita area will receive a free ticket to Wild Lights at the Sedgwick County Zoo.
The electronics accepted include batteries, connector cables, cell phones, modems, routers, and power cords. The offer is limited to two tickets per household, while supplies last.

What Is Wild Lights & How Much Does It Cost
Wild Lights is a seasonal lantern festival at the Sedgwick County Zoo, where hundreds of thousands of lights, Asian lantern sculptures of real and mythical animals, and glowing immersive scenes transform the zoo’s paths into a nighttime wonderland. The display runs this year from October 15 through December 21, 6-9 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. Sedgwick County Zoo+2Wichita By E.B.+2
If you were buying tickets instead of using the free giveaway, prices range from approximately $16 online for general admission (for ages 3+) to about $19 at the gate. Zoo members often get a discount, and there are special “Wednesday pricing” discounts. Bulk group rates are available too. Sedgwick County Zoo
For those wanting a more relaxed experience, there are VIP cart tours (up to 10 guests) that include a festive snack and drink, rolling through the lights in style. Sedgwick County Zoo
Why This Giveaway Matters
This Cox program is called the Wild Lights E-Recycling Event, tied to World Gorilla Day (September 24). It aims to raise awareness around recycling small electronics to reduce e-waste and protect wildlife habitats, including gorilla habitat. By participating, people do something good for the environment and get to enjoy a view of Wild Lights for free.
