A new campaign from the Trump Administration’s U.S. Dept. of Labor has drawn sharp comparisons to Nazi-era propaganda, raising alarms about the racial and gendered vision of America it promotes.

The first Black History Month was celebrated at Kent State University in 1970, following a proposal by Black educators and the Black United Students in 1969, however in 1976, President Gerald Ford officially recognized Black History Month, expanding the week-long celebration to a full month.
