Miss Juneteenth ICT contestant Ta’Lyiah Lewis, 15, is a student at Wichita Northwest High School.
Ta’Lyiah says she entered the pageant to build up her confidence and speaking skills, forge new bonds and find scholarship opportunities.
The daughter of Chandra Lewis is competing for the Miss Juneteenth title for the first time.
She is a sports enthusiast who enjoys showing off her skills while staying fit and healthy.
Eventually, she wants to graduate high school with a 4.0 and earn a sports scholarship in basketball to help pay for college.
The Miss Juneteenth ICT pageant is Thursday, June 13 at the WSU CAC Theater. Doors open at 6; the pageant starts at 7.
