Wichita native Curtis Whitten took seventh place in the recently completed Mr. Health and Fitness contest sponsored by Muscle and Fitness magazine.
Whitten will get a half-page feature inside the magazine, but missed out on the $20,000 prize and the cover story that went to the first place finisher, Nicholas Thomas, a lifelong athlete with six world records in indoor rowing and skiing.
His mother, Belinda Whitten said the seventh place finish is a door opener for Curtis.
“This is a great opportunity for Curtis and has opened many doors for him. God is good and Curtis is blessed.”
She expressed thanks to all the Wichita fitness fans who followed Curtis in the contest and cast votes for him on the Muscle and Fitness Facebook page.
