The 97th Annual Wichita Branch NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet was held Sat., Oct. 8, at the Wichita Marriott.

Kevin Myles, the NAACP Southeastern Regional Field Director, was the keynote speaker. A fromer Wichitan, Myles, served as the former Wichita Branch NAACP President and President of the Kansas State Conference of NAACP Branches.

The program is an opportunity for the Wichita NAACP to recognize outstandimg acts and services that have benefited the Wichita community. Each of the individuals or organizations have volunteered or worked to create positive change, supporting the interests of equal opportunity and advancing a vision of a better community.
