Award-winning Broadway musical performer and Wichita native Karla Burns has been named to Wichita State University’s Fine Arts Hall of Fame. This year’s class of honorees include 10 members. Burns was nominated in the Alumni category, which recognized alumni from the College of Fine Arts who have distinguished themselves in the arts. Winners must have been out of school for at least five years.
Other categories include contributors, a category set aside for donors and patrons; and mentors, for current or retired WSU faculty, staff or administrators who have supported, inspired and motivated the WSU fine arts community.
Sponsored by The Friends of Fine Arts, an organization that supports the arts at WSU. Inductees are chosen by a selection committee that includes WSU administrators, College of Fine Arts patrons and retired faculty members.
