The Black Repertory Theatre of Kansas City is presenting “Hi-Hat Hattie”, a one-woman play with music that celebrates the life and achievements of trailblazing actress, singer-songwriter, and comedian Hattie McDaniel, who was the first African American to win an Academy Award for her iconic role as Mammy in the film “Gone with the Wind”.
