How can we get a marijuana bill passed that benefits Kansas’ African-American community and what should it look like?

Kansas remains one of just nine states without some form of legalized marijuana. Again, it appears Kansas will not pass a bill legalizing marijuana this legislative session.  

While many medical marijuana bills have been considered, passing a good bill remains more important than just passing any bill. What will make a good marijuana bill?

We’ll discuss formulating a medical marijuana bill that works best for Kansas’ African-American community during a National Weed Day online roundtable on April 20 at 10 a.m. 

Our panel, moderated by Community Voice Editor-in-Chief Bonita Gooch, will include Kansas state Rep. Ford Carr, state senator and CBD shop owner Mary Ware, and Oklahoma-licensed grower and dispensary operator Curtis Whitten.
