1. Black Economic Boycott: Success But the Effort Must Go On
A new schedule of economic blackouts has been released. While local Black-owned businesses saw success from the Feb. 28th boycott, Black brands in the boycotted stores raise cause for concern.

2. DeShazer and Shepard Early Candidates for Wichita City Council
LaWanda DeShazer and Joseph Shepard are community activists who have already filed to run for Wichita’s District 1 seat. The seat is currently occupied by Councilman Brandon Johnson, who will not seek re-election due to term limits.

3. Rep. Ford Carr Files Complaint Against Abusive Republican
Rep. Ford Carr has filed a formal complaint against Republican Rep. Nick Hoheisel after a confrontation led to a two hour legislation shutdown.

4. Appeals Court Upholds $5 Million Award in Trump Sexual Abuse Verdict
Kansas City G.I.F.T. has launched “Savor the Flavor”, a dining passport featuring 13 of KC’s Black-owned restaurants. The effort encourages the community to support local businesses with access to menus, reviews, and a rating scale.

5. Trace Your Roots: Free Workshop Offers Keys to Unlock African American Family Histories
Find out where your ancestors come from! Join the Black Archives of Mid-America for a special genealogy workshop that will teach you how to trace your family roots. The event is Sat., March 8 1-5:30 p.m. The event is FREE but registration is required.

Complaint alleges K-State violated executive orders. An organization for young conservatives has filed a civil rights complaint against Kansas State University for allegedly violating Title VI, Title IX, and some recent executive orders from the Trump Administration. (KSN)
