FDA Approves First Over-the-Counter Birth Control Pill in U.S.

The FDA has approved the first over-the-counter birth control pill, Opill, which will be available without prescription and with no age restrictions on sales, potentially improving access to contraceptive care for women and girls who face barriers such as paying for a doctor’s visit or finding child care; however, the medication’s price is yet to be announced by manufacturer Perrigo.
