💡Trivia Answer: D. Licensed Cosmetologist. On October 28, 1948, Berry married Themetta “Toddy” Suggs, who gave birth to their daughter in 1950. Chuck supported his family by taking various jobs in St. Louis, working briefly as a worker in an automobile assembly and as a janitor. Later, he trained as a beautician and began doing well enough to buy a “small three room brick cottage with a bath” , which is now listed as the Chuck Berry House on the National Register of Historic Places.
