Join us at the Kansas Capitol on Monday, February 19 for the annual Black Legislative Day, where African American leaders and concerned citizens will gather to discuss and advocate for issues affecting the Black community in Kansas. With panel presentations and discussions on hot legislative topics, this event offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding of the legislative process and its potential impact. Don’t miss this chance to make your voice heard and support positive change.
“This is an event for experienced advocates as well as for citizens hoping to grow their knowledge and understanding of the legislative process and the issues,”
stacey knoell, executive director of the kansas african american affairs commission
The event aims to grow understanding of issues that affect African Americans and advocate for or against legislation that may have a positive or negative impact on the state’s Black community. The day will include a series of panel presentations and discussions on hot legislative topics of the year, with a specific focus on the potential impact the legislation might have on the state’s Black community. The event is a collaborative project of the Kansas State Branches of the NAACP, Kansas Black Legislative Caucus, the Kansas African American Affairs Commission, and the Kansas Black Leadership Council.
