Planning for your future includes protecting what you’ve worked for and understanding your options for taking care of yourself. A free Senior Connect event will help community members explore both.
The Voice’s Senior Connect: Plan Well, Live Well workshop takes place Monday, Oct. 26, at Carl Brewer Center, 1329 E. 16th St., Wichita. Doors open at 9:30 a.m., with one-hour workshops at 10 and 11 a.m. The event ends at noon.
Featured presenters Attorney Olivia Dempsey and Dr. Chela Love are both Wichita natives putting their professional knowledge to work for the community that helped shape them.
Dempsey, of Martin Pringle Attorneys at Law, returns by popular demand following her Senior Connect presentation in August. Her estate planning workshop offers another opportunity for those who missed her earlier session—and those who left with more questions—to learn about protecting what they’ve accumulated and preparing for the future.
Participants can bring questions about getting their affairs in order and making their wishes clear to loved ones.
Love, of Love Clinic and Med Spa, will discuss GLP-1 medications and their potential role not just in losing weight, but in improving health. She will also introduce med spa treatments people are using to feel and look younger, giving attendees an opportunity to ask questions about options they may have heard about but don’t fully understand.
“We wanted to bring together two topics that matter as we get older: protecting what we’ve built and understanding our choices for living well,” said Bonita Gooch, publisher of The Community Voice. “We can be proud of these two young Wichita women who are sharing their knowledge and giving back. This is a chance to learn, ask questions and leave better informed.”
The event is presented — as requested by seniors who attended THE VOICE’s full-day Senior Connect event in August. Put Senior Connect 2027 on your calendar for August 13.
Admission is free, but space is limited. Everyone who preregisters will receive a free gift card.
