I admit it, I hadn’t done my homework when I showed up for the premiere of Blair at the Regal Warren East Friday night. I thought I was there for a chill hometown movie premiere. What we got instead? Buckets of blood. Turns out all that dripping red in the Blair title isn’t just for decoration — that “B” is most definitely for blood.
Your girl didn’t know it was going to be scary. Scene one set me straight real quick. And as the bodies started piling up, it was official: Blair is a full-on slasher.
By the time the credits rolled, the bodies of unlucky college kids were stacked almost as high as the popcorn tubs. Wichita State University serves as the backdrop, with plenty of B-roll shots of campus life providing contrast to the chaos on screen.
Director Troy Andrews proved once again that his talent runs deep, turning Wichita into the backdrop for some serious cinematic mayhem. The all-local cast carried the weight too — believable, committed, and maybe a little too good at dying on screen.
Andrews also revealed that Blair is just the beginning. This thing’s a trilogy. He’s already shooting the prequel, which promises to explain what pushed Blair over the edge into murderous territory. From the looks of the finale, Blair himself isn’t the only one making a comeback — Heisman finalist Hayden seems destined for round three.
As for where you’ll get to watch? Nothing’s locked in yet, but DrewVision already has two Tubi hits (Seeds and Snooze) under its belt. Don’t be surprised when Blair shows up in your streaming queue, ready to spill more blood right in your living room.
