Interim Park and Recreation Director Reggie Davidson, has been selected as the next director of Wichita Park and Recreation. The Director of Park and Recreation oversees the management, development, and operations of the Park and Recreation Department, driving initiatives that enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors.

Davidson has served as the interim Park and Recreation director since September 2024. During his interim role, Davidson oversaw daily operations of the department, directed programming and coordinated  multiple community events, including Fan Fest at Naftzger Park during the 2025 NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Championships.

Prior to his time in Wichita, he served as the Recreation Manager for the City of Round Rock, Texas.

“Reggie has strong leadership skills and a passion for service that extends beyond his Park and Recreation duties,” City Manager Robert Layton said. “He cares deeply about ensuring that our community is well-positioned to meet the needs of residents and making Wichita a dynamic, engaging place to live.”
