Wichita’s Drone Light Festival returns this weekend, building on two years of sold-out success.

Three nights of electrifying wonder are planned at Exploration Place September 20-22.

Guests will experience an unforgettable evening where technology meets art and the sky becomes a canvas. As a special bonus for 2024, this event marks the grand opening of the new Wichita Foundation Amphitheater and an all-new event plaza at Exploration Place.

The main event features an awe-inspiring display of 300 synchronized drones, choreographed to music in the sky above the Arkansas River. The festival also includes candlelight performances in the amphitheater, free laser shows in the dome theater, free live science shows, food trucks and full access to Exploration Place exhibits.

While the spectacle will be visible for miles around, there’s no better seat than on the Exploration Place campus.

Performers include Music Theatre Wichita, American Idol golden ticket winner McKayla Stacey, Trevor Stewart, Alan Craddock and the ICT Independent Winterguard.

Tickets are just $75 per carload, each allowing up to 9 guests. Walk-up tickets (no parking included) are available for $15 each.

“This drone show is a perfect expression of our mission to inspire a deeper interest in science and technology through creative and fun experiences for all,” said Adam Smith, Exploration Place’s president and CEO. “It’s an incredible experience first-hand.”
