The Kansas City Board of Public Utilities (BPU) is calling for applications from local children’s charities to be considered as beneficiaries of its 2024 Employees Charity Golf Tournament.
The annual event, which this year is scheduled for Sept.14 at Dub’s Dread Golf Course in Kansas City, KS, has raised over $779,000 for area children’s charities since 1992.
The BPU Employees Charity Golf Corporation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is specifically looking for nonprofits that benefit children and youth within KCK and Wyandotte County. This focus aligns with the tournament’s mission to assist young people in the communities served by BPU.
Interested organizations have until Sept. 13 to submit applications. To apply, charities can request an application form by emailing CharityGolf.Corp@bpu.com.
The BPU, which provides electric and water services to approximately 67,000 and 53,000 customers respectively, primarily in Wyandotte County, has a long-standing commitment to community support. This annual golf tournament is part of their ongoing efforts to improve the quality of life in the area while delivering reliable utility services.
Local children’s charities are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to potentially receive funding for their programs and services. The selected beneficiary will be announced following the application review process.
