The City has announced its next round of open houses as it continues to market and sell public housing units. The City has received approval to sell an additional 51 scattered site units in addition to the 37 previously marketed as available for sale. Due to the large number of homes now available, staff will typically conduct open houses in groupings by neighborhood.

Open houses have been scheduled for 2-4 p.m. Sunday, May 19 for 12 homes, with most in the Matlock Heights neighborhood in northeast Wichita.
The May 19 event will feature the following single-family homes:

 2722 N Fairmount,   2638 N Estelle, 2607 N Poplar,   2420 N Green, 2431 N Prince,  2615 E Audrey,  2437 N Estelle,  2904 E 24th,,  2462 N Chautauqua  2318 W 33rd St S., 2528 S Twin Oaks, and  2513 E 22nd

Additional Public Housing inventory available for sale is typically listed on the City’s website at https://www.wichita.gov/1317/Available-Housing-Department-Properties, although some City systems remain down following a recent cyber security incident. Detailed information on each of this weekend’s listings will be available at the open house events. Inventory may be added or reduced for each open house event as additional units are available for marketing or as particular units go under contract. Offers will be reviewed on a regular basis between open houses.

Additional information, along with the process for submitting a written offer, is available at https://www.wichita.gov/Economic/Pages/RealEstate.aspx. The City is listing these properties at fair market appraised value instead of traditional real estate market prices, making them more affordable for residents. Questions may be directed to City staff at HousingDevelopment@wichita.gov.

Homes currently on the market have been approved for sale by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Any changes to open house schedules will be announced at wichita.gov/446/Public-Housing.
