It’s clean-up time for the Uptown Neighborhood (Central to Douglas and Hillside to Grove) on Saturday, May 11 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Items set out for the clean-up must be bagged, boxed or bundled and residents are reminded that household trash will not be included because the purpose of the clean-up is to pick up large items that are difficult or costly to get rid of.

Tree waste and brush must be bundled and tied or secured. Each bundle should be no more than 4 feet long and no bigger than 12 inches in diameter. Oversized bundles or loose brush will not be picked up.

Truck drivers and volunteers will visit a property only one time, so residents should be sure to have their items out before 8 a.m. There will not be pick-ups of leftover items after the cleanup.

No concrete or hazardous materials can be picked up. Up to eight tires can be brought the College Hill United Methodist parking lot at 2930 E. 1st St. for disposal. There will also be a brunch for volunteers at the church.
