If you are a Sedgwick County resident in need of having old felony or misdemeanor convictions removed from your legal record and/or sealed from being seen by the general public, there’s a Kansas Legal Services clinic coming soon that can help you free of charge.

But you must act quickly to make your appointment. The deadline to pre-register is Friday, March 29. To pre-register call Kansas Legal Services at 316-267-3975 or send an email to kslprobono@klsinc.org Or follow this link.

The upcoming clinic pertains only to Sedgwick County residents and records in Sedgwick County District Court cases but there will be clinics in other counties later this year. You can watch the Kansas Legal Services website at www.kansaslegalservices.org for dates and times of other clinics around the state.

Materials needed at appointment time include an ID and documents from the courts or the state in reference to your criminal offenses to be cleared.

If you are an attorney or a law student and want to volunteer, you can email klsprobono@klsinc.org and state the clinic you wish to join.  There will be CLE trainings for each clinic.  Volunteers will get the training information after they sign up

The clinics are made possible by Kansas Legal Services, Independent Living Resource Center, Topeka Bar Association, Kansas Bar Foundation, Kansas Office of Judicial Administration, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and Koch Industries.
