The couple’s relationship became public after Mr. Scott’s final turn on the debate stage. He proposed on Saturday.
What a week South Carolina Senator and former presidential candidate Tim Scott had. A day after endorsing former President Donald Trump at a New Hampshire rally, proposed to his girlfriend of one year, and she said yes.
His engagement sparked speculation that he’s positioning himself as a potential running mate for Trump. A long time bachelor, he’d faced a lot of criticism for not being married.
Scott’s fiance is Mindy Noce, an interior designer who lives in Charleston. The two met in church. Scott and Noce’s relationship became public in November when he brought her onstage after a Republican presidential primary debate. It was the last debate he participated in before suspending his campaign.
The engagement was confirmed by a spokesman for Scott and he shared the news on the Fox News program “Sunday Night in America.”

On the campaign trail, Scott was often asked about his marital status. A Christian, Scott would often say he was praying for the right woman and even quoted Proverbs 18:22 says, ‘He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.”
