Kim Cowans, a realtor with Berkshire Hathaway is planning a second real estate industry mixer on Nov. 30 at the Douglas Social  Club, 2518 E. Douglas.

Cowans said the first event drew between 40 and 45 participants and she expects it to grow this year.

“I’m organizing this as a chance for people to meet fellow real estate agents and also to introduce an influx of new agents. But I’m also including lenders, title companies, builders, contractors and private companies that deal in the community’s real estate industry,” she said.

The real estate industry has picked up speed in recent months in Wichita and its surrounding areas, and Cowans said she expects further growth.

“We are seeing investors buy up homes to renovate and rent, but we are also seeing those who want to invest and flip and people who want to buy and renovate a home to live in,” she said. 

She sees the holiday season as a good time to bring people together to get to know one another.
