The Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office will host its 5th annual Expungement Fair on Tue. and Wed., Aug. 8 and 9,with assistance from Kansas Legal Services and Unite KC.
The fair will be held from 4-8 p.m. both days at the Kansas City Kansas Community College Technical Education Center, 6565 State Ave., KCK.
A pre-screening process is now underway. To get started, see the chart below.
Depending on the seriousness of the crime, convictions or diversions can be expunged (3) or (5) years after the case is satisfied. Some serious crimes can never be expunged.
Juvenile adjudications can be expunged (2) years after the case is satisfied. An arrest that did not result in the filing of charges can be expunged once the District Attorney has declined prosecution.
