Wichita Park and Recreation will host the eighth annual Red, White & BOOM on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 from 6 to 10:30 p.m. in downtown Wichita. Fireworks will start at 9:40 p.m.

Spectators can watch the fireworks from the Hyatt Lawn, 400 W. Waterman St or inside Riverfront Stadium, 300 S. Sycamore. Gates will open at 6pm at Riverfront Stadium with free admission for all.

Food trucks Busy B’s, Hot-2-Trot, Smokin’ Diner and Kona Ice will be staged on the Hyatt lawn, 400 W. Waterman. There will not be a baseball game on July 4, but attendees will be able to enjoy the Wind Surge away game in Tulsa via the jumbotron inside Riverfront Stadium.

McLean Blvd will close from Maple to Douglas from 5 p.m. on July 4 until completion of the fireworks show (approximately 10:30 p.m.), and starting at the Hyatt entrance extending to the end of Lewis St. bridge at Maple and McLean Blvd. The Arkansas River will be closed from the Lewis St. bridge to north of the Hyatt property line. The Wichita Fire Department’s River Rescue team will be patrolling the area to ensure everyone’s safety during the event. The walking path along the west side of the Arkansas River that is adjacent to Riverfront Stadium will be closed from 7 a.m.-10:30 p.m.
