As an activist, diversity trainer and teaching artist, he developed a presentation, Racism in Childrenโs Music: Liberating Music for the Black Child, exploring solutions to eradicate racist lyrics, cartoons, books and more that are still harmful to this day.
Uncle Devin and 25 other artists are members of the 1 Tribe Collective whose album โAll One Tribeโ was GRAMMY-nominated for Best Childrenโs Music Album in 2022.
As a teaching artist, Uncle Devinโs performances, workshops, and school residencies have allowed children to hear, see, and play different percussion instruments.
Both Wichita performances are open free of charge.
