The Great Plains Nature Center is offering its annual Walk with Wildlife event on Saturday, May 20 at the center at 6232 E. 29th Street North. The event is outdoors and runs from 10 a.m. to 1` p.m.
Visitors will get to see wildlife from a number of Kansas conservation and rehabilitation organizations as they walk along the Quail Trail in the park. Naturalists will be on the scene to talk about native and invasive Kansas animals, their habitats and how it all works together.
“This event is an excellent opportunity for people to see things they might not otherwise have a chance to see as closely anywhere near here. WWe’ll have experts talking about a range of wildlife from waterbirds and pond life to insects, amphibians and mammals,” says Darah Jewell, Volunteer and Event Coordinator of the nature center. “It’s perfect for all ages.”
Admission for this event is $10 per car load. Spirit Aerosystems will sponsor a concession stand during the event.
