Here are two new Black-owned businesses opening in our service areas.
Kiylee Kakes opens at Independence Center
Starting in their kitchen in 2018, Leroy and Rodnisha Blaylock transitioned from a food truck to their new location selling their highly sought after funnel cakes with specialty toppings. They also offer deep-fried treats, like deep fried Oreos and cinnamon rolls, milkshakes and ice cream. Their new location inside Independence Center in Independence, MO, 18801 E. 39th St., is open Monday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday noon to 6 p.m. Kiylee Kakes also offer lemonade in four flavors: plain, blue raspberry, strawberry and mango.
