Akeam Ashford is the new Director of Strategic Communications for Sedgwick County, overseeing county government’s internal and external communications efforts. He is best known as a reporter for KWCH-12 News, which he left to become Public Affairs Officer at the Dole VA Medical Center. He volunteers with United Way of the Plains and recently worked with the City of Wichita on the Wichita Transit “Veterans Ride Free” program.
