Kim Warren has been named the new associate dean for diversity, equity and inclusion for the University of Kansas’ School of Social Welfare. She will be joining the school in an administrative and research capacity. Her tenure home will remain in the department of history, as will her teaching responsibilities.

A longtime KU faculty member and a native Kansas Citian, Warren is an associate professor in history who researches and teaches in the areas of African diasporas, Native American studies and feminist studies. She has a bachelor’s degree in American studies from Yale University and master’s degree and doctorate in history from Stanford University.
