The African American Council of Elders ~ Wichita/Sedgwick County in partnership with the Wichita Branch NAACP and the Wichita Griots Storytellers will kick off the Kwanzaa celebrations in Wichita, with their 16th annual community “Kuumba (Creativity) Salad Karamu” on Thurs., Dec. 26., 3 – 5 p.m. at The Center,1914 E. 11th, Wichita. This is a free, family friendly event.

A Karamu is a communal feast celebrated as part of Kwanzaa. People who attend are asked to bring their favorite salad toppings (e.g. tomatoes, croutons, cheese or whatever) to add to the communal Kuumba Salad.
