Last month, we brought you the story of Dr. Brandy Palacios, the Kansas City native who holds the title of Mrs. Missouri 2018.
She competed for the Mrs. America title in Las Vegas on Aug. 25.
Unfortunately, Palacios didn’t win.
She is the first African-American Mrs. Missouri and was one of seven black contestants in this year’s Mrs. America.
The new Mrs. America is Mrs. Illinois Nicole Cook. Mrs. Georgia Liana Brackett was first alternate and Mrs. Kansas Anissa Pfeifer was second alternate.
