KCK Deltas Seeking Nominees for
Influential Community Leader Award
As part of their regional convention to be held in Overland Park Aug. 2-5, members of the Kansas City (KS) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will present an “Influential Community Leader” Award to an individual from the Kansas City, Kansas community. The honoree will have consistently demonstrated qualities of compassion and service to the Kansas City, Kansas community and must:
Be active within the local community
Be perceived by the public in his/her community as a leader
Demonstrate, through civic involvement, how he/she has enhanced the quality of life within the community
Not have received any remuneration for professional series rendered, if any
Be in good standing within the community

The award will be presented at the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. 48th Central Regional Conference Welcome Event on Thurs., Aug. 2, 6:30 -8:30 p.m., at the Overland Park Convention Center.

Honored to host the 48th Central Regional Conference on Thursday, August 2 -5, 2018, at the Overland Park Convention Center in Overland Park, Kan. Our theme for the conference is “Purpose, Passion, Promise, & Power: Fulfilling Our Lifetime Commitment.”
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has been in existence for over 100 years and is a historically African-American organization of college-educated women, committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service with a primary focus on the Black community. Our purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. The Central Region includes the states of Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri , North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma and Wyoming.
