The Heartland Black Chamber of Commerce held its 3rd Annual Black & White Ball: Night of the Living Stars, on Apr. 21 at the Wichita Marriott.

The chamber inducted three new community business leaders into the Black Business Hall of Fame:

E. Jean Carter-Boniface, founder, CEO and President of H.O.P.E., Inc..

Dale Diggs, Jr., owner and CEO of Diggs Construction Company, and

Willie Kendrick, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen franchise.

The Chamber also awarded scholarships to graduating high school seniors: Lauren Eckels, Aimani Johnson, Kayla Johnson, Amiah McFan and Kyeisha Ross. Each of the recipients are eligible to receive up to $1,000 per year that they are in college.

Recogniton was also given to event corporate sponsors Westar Energy and Delta Dental. The chamber received a $5,000 donation from Walmart.

‘Natural Change’ from Dallas provided good ole music for dinner and the dance.
