The Wichita African Union hosted their 6th Annual Celebration on Sept. 2 at the Hyatt Regency. In a show “Embracing Diversity,” Black, White, American and African all enjoyed the evening together.
The celebration included lots of prizes and an auction. Attendees danced to a live band and a DJ.
Young and old alike, a good time was had by all.
Models showed traditional attire from their regions of the African Diaspora and Excellence in Education and Leadership Development certificates were given out during the evening.
Around the banquet hall stations representative of the traditions and culture of the African nations represented in the Wichita African Union: Botswania, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Ethopia from East African, West Africa and Central Africa and a few points in between were highlighted.
