NBA great and Kansas Sports Hall of Famer, Antoine Carr will be the featured celebrity coach during Storytime Village’s Hoops 4 Literacy, a charity basketball game aimed at combating low literacy for children in the Wichita community, Saturday, October 22nd, 6pm at the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Central Kansas, 2400 N. Opportunity Dr.

Carr is a retired NBA star who got his start at Wichita Heights High School and Wichita State University. He will be joined by former NBA Clippers player, Taj Gray, who will also serve as a team coach. Carr and Gray will host a celebrity meet & greet at 4:30-5:30pm prior to the game.
Many underserved Kansas children are lacking the quality literacy tools to help them succeed in school and in life. Providing children with access to books helps to increase their reading achievement. Storytime Village will collect children’s books for underserved children at Hoops 4 Literacy. Admission to the game is free with the donation of a children’s book.

Hoops 4 Literacy will take place at The Boys and Girls Club of South Central Kansas, 2400 N. Opportunity Dr., on October 22nd at 6pm with a celebrity meet & greet beginning at 4:30pm.
