Willie Dove

UPDATED AUGUST 4: Conservative Republican Willie Dove was one of the rare Republican conservatives in Northeast Kansas that retained his position.  Dover was supported by the Kansas Chamber but drew a moderate Republican opponent who was backed by the Kansas National Education Association.  Dove won with51% of the votes.  He still has a Democratic opponent to face in the general election.  

PRINTED JUNE 9: Willie Dove, an incumbent Republican representing the 38th District in the Kansas House, has two opponents in the August primary. The District covers part of Leavenworth County, parts of Bonner Springs and Lansing; and part of Johnson County, including Gardner, Lenexa, and Olathe. The candidate who wins the primary will be opposed by Mike Fonkert, the Democrat, who is an organizer for the Kansas Coalition Against the Death Penalty.
