Wichita’s growing music scene will be on display Sat., May 28 at the 4th Annual 316 Music Fest. In a family-fun and safe environment participants will enjoy all genres of music: Jazz, Soul, Gospel, Hip Hop, R&B and Pop, as well as comedy and spoken word performances, all performed live by artist from around the region. 

The festival will be sure to enhance the Memorial Holiday weekend, will be held at McAdams Park, 1329 E. 16th St. In addition to music, the event will include local vendors, voter registration, food vendors, bounce houses and free haircuts for children. 

Activities get underway at 1 p.m., with live performances on stage from 1-3 p.m. The performers take a break from 3-4:30 p.m. for the Chopper Sound Battle. Local motorcycles club will compete for the loudest sound system. After the battle, talent returns to the stage from 4:30 p.m. to the event conclusion at 7 p.m.

Some of the artists scheduled to appear include: Mama Hustle, Buddy Roe, Hoodrich, Big Sam, Lawyer Jones, Desmond Bryant, Uncle Bam, Brandon Winn, DJ Dizzy, the Beautillion Showcase, Ebonee Silmon, Cing J, and Rudy Love, Jr. 

Admission to the festival is FREE. The 316 Music Fest is sponsored by Strongwill Enterprises, a business owned by two former Wichitans who currently reside in Atlanta, Ga. The organization’s goal, is to help connect local artists with the community. 

Strongwill partner Cyrel Foote, Jr., says the group noticed a limited number of forums for local talent to express, network, and display their talent.
