KS. Sen. Susan Wagle and KS. Rep Valdenia Winn were honored for their strength and perseverance at the Doris Kerr-Larkins Royal Brunch held Sat., April 2nd at The Kansas African American Museum. The invitational event, for women only, was attended by some of the community’s leading ladies. The luncheon honored Kerr-Larkins, who fought and persevered to save the old Calvary Baptist Church and to found The Kansas African American museum. 

The brunch was catered by Jodee B’s Catering and the men of Real Men Real Heroes waited tables. The keynote speech was give by Magistrate Gwynne Birzer who shared with the audience her path to perseverance to reach the position she holds today.
