Kansas Governor Sam Brownback and First Lady Mary Brownback will hold the 2016 Governor’s Easter Egg Hunt at Cedar Crest, the Governor’s official residence, on Saturday, March 19. The free event is open to children ages 1 to 9 and their families.
The Easter egg hunt will begin at 10:00 a.m. Children will be divided into four age divisions: 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-9.
A free shuttle service from the Fairlawn Church of the Nazarene (730 Fairlawn Rd.) parking lot will begin at 8:30 a.m. Handicap accessible parking will be available in the parking lot located west of Cedar Crest.
Children also will be able to interact with the Easter Bunny and some of their other favorite characters.
The hunt is sponsored by several organizations including Country Legends 106.9, the Kansas Army National Guard and Durham School Services.
In the event of rain, all candy will be donated to a local children’s charity.
