Wichita Southeast High School Principal Lori Doyle and staff are inviting you back to your stomping grounds on Saturday, March 5th 2016! As most may be aware, this is the final year students and staff will be in the original Southeast building. But, fear not, proud Buffaloes, we want to celebrate the great students, teachers, staff members, and administrators who’ve roamed these halls.
Built in 1957, Southeast is one of the oldest schools in Wichita. Almost 60-years of memories and legacies lie within these school walls from your old science room to the gym. As your present staff, we want to relive those moments and carry those traditions on because as we know, a buffalo may wander on its own, but eventually a buffalo rejoins it herd.
Southeast is hosting a 5k+ run and open house to allow alumni, current and former staff, district employees, and community members an opportunity to roam the halls one last time on Saturday, March 5.
The Open House will be from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. The 5k+ and Fun Run is to celebrate the life of Coach Carl Taylor, who passed away in January 2015. The Fun Run will begin at 8 a.m. and the 5k+ will begin at 9 a.m. Each hallway in the school will reflect a different decade the school has been around, from the 1950’s to present, and be decorated with pictures, trophies and uniforms. There will be food, photo booth, family games and opportunities for friends to gather and share memories.
