The Sedgwick County Black Republican Council hosted their 6th Annual Recognition Banquet at the Marriott Hotel on Dec. 12. The theme for the night was “Front Line Community Forces.” The organizations honored during the evening play a large part in impacting the lives of youth in the community.

Among the honorees were:

  • Real Men/Real Heros – a youth-mentoring organization committed to providing exemplary role models to Wichita youth.
  • ICT S.O.S – an organization that acts as a liaison between specific local professional organizations who work with trafficked youth.
  • D.Y.W.T.L.O.D – a program which presents adolescents with alternative paths to gang affiliation, emphasizing education and positive role models.
  • Urban Prep Academy – an independent private school providing a full range of opportunities for students from K through grade 6.

  • Youth Horizons
  • Cloud 9 Therapeutic Equine Foundation
  • Communities in Schools 
  • C.L.A.S.S
