The Mayor’s Christmas Tree tradition, started by former Kansas City Mayor George Shelley 100 years ago, continues today with the lighting of the 100-foot-tall tree and the raising of funds for the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund to support thousands of families during the holidays.
