‘Leaders & Innovators’ Exhibit to Debut at Negro Leagues Museum
A special “Leaders & Innovators” exhibit will open to the public on May 25, and run through the World Series in late fall. Museum officials unveiled the initiative’s new logo at a ceremony attended by Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas and Jackson County Executive Frank White.

Hickman Mills School District celebrated two of its most dedicated advocates at a renaming ceremony that unveiled new signage and names for two schools that will honor the legacies of civil rights icon Alvin Brooks and community champion John Sharp.

Workshop to Empower Safeguarding Church History
Helping churches preserve vital Black history is the goal of “Safeguarding Church History,” a half-day workshop sponsored by the Black Archives of Mid America on Sat., April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The workshop is free and lunch will be provided.
