Smithsonian ‘Black Wings’ Aviation Exhibit Lands in KC Feb. 4

The exhibit will be at the Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center for three months starting Feb. 4.

Trivia Answer: D. Franklin Roosevelt. Franklin D. Roosevelt’s “Black Cabinet” was an informal group of African American advisors who worked to ensure that African Americans received equal access to federal benefits and employment opportunities during the New Deal era. Some notable members included:
Mary McLeod Bethune, founder of the National Council of Negro Women and Director of Negro Affairs in the National Youth Administration and Robert C. Weaver, Economist in the Department of the Interior and later the first Black cabinet secretary.
