THE LAST OF THE BLUE DEVILS: 50TH ANNIVERSARY FILM SCREENING & CONCERT

Join us for a celebration of Kansas City’s iconic jazz legacy with the 50th Anniversary screening of The Last Of The Blue Devils: The Movie About Kansas City Jazz. Presented by the Mutual Musicians Foundation International, this special event brings history to life through film, music, and dialogue.
🎶 Friday, October 10 | Gem Theater, Historic 18th & VineExperience the feature film screening, followed by a panel discussion with local jazz luminaries, scholars, and artists. The evening closes with a live concert celebrating the music of Count Basie, Jay McShann, Big Joe Turner, and the Kansas City sound that inspired the film.
This is more than a screening—it’s a cultural tribute and an unforgettable night of jazz, community, and cinematic history.

1. Temporary On-Street Parking
- 17th Terrace (north of 18th Street): On-street parking available from Highland to Vine Street.
- Highland Avenue (just north of 18th): Limited angled or parallel spaces remain accessible.
- Vine Street south of 18th: Additional on-street spots still open
Note: 18th Street between Paseo and Vine is closed to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic, and sidewalks on 18th are closed through September 2025. Pedestrian entry to Blue Room, Jazz Museum, and adjacent venues is maintained via back entrances off 17th Terrace and Highland Avenue
