Civil War Reenactment

March 19 @ 10:00 am 5:00 pm

Step back in time and experience the thunder and tension of a nation divided at Old Cowtown Museum during the Civil War Reenactment on April 18th and 19th. The streets and fields of Cowtown come alive as Union and Confederate soldiers drill, march, and clash in demonstrations. Hear the crack of musketry and roar of artillery in action. Between reenactments, visitors can explore historically authentic camps, speak with reenactors about life as a soldier or individual at a time of uncertainty in the nation. Visitors will learn about the Civil War in Kansas and the impact of the conflict on the state.

This immersive weekend offers engaging educational programming for families, history enthusiasts, and anyone curious about the Civil War and life in the 1860s. Join us at Old Cowtown and experience history around one of the most researched and discussed time periods as we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States as a nation.
