In August, the Kauffman Foundation announced a refreshed grant-making strategy with increased transparency and a streamlined grant-making process in five key areas.  The foundation has announced 55 organizations as the first grant recipients under this new strategy.

They are awarding a total of $11.2 million to these organizations for capacity buildingย  designed to strengthen the internal effectiveness and long-term stability of theseย nonprofit charity organizations by fostering sound leadership, strong boards, professional development for staff, technology, evaluation, strategic planning, communications, and sustainability.ย

โ€œWe heard loud and clear that grantees needed funds to grow their reach and achieve impact โ€“ and we responded,โ€ said Allison Greenwood-Bajracharya, Kauffmanโ€™s chief impact and strategy officer.

These one-time, short-term grants were awarded to charities that demonstrate a specific capacity gap and that are aligned with the foundationโ€™s strategic priorities and focus areas.

Among the 55 grant recipients are:

Connections to Success

DeLaSalle High School

LINC Stronger Families Together

High Aspirations

Prospect Business Association

Redtail Academy

Sisters in Christ

DEED Foundation
