The City of Wichita is continuing to sell its stock of single-family public housing units as it receives permission from HUD to put them on the market. On Tuesday, the City announced approval to sell 51 additional units in scattered locations across the city.

These are in addition to the 37 homes previously marketed as available. The city staff will conduct open houses in groupings by neighborhood.

Open houses have been scheduled for 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 14 for 22 homes in the Ken-Mar, Fairmount, A. Price Woodard and Murdock neighborhoods in central Wichita, as well as a selection of homes in south and west Wichita.
The April 14 event will feature the following single-family homes:

 1028 N Volutsia Ave.,1033 N. Volutsia Ave., 1043 N. Volutsia Ave., 1056 N Volutsia Ave., 1114 N. Volutsia Ave., 1217 N. Erie Ave., 1218 N. Chautauqua St., 1248 N. Estelle St., 1253 N. Chautauqua St., 1258 N. Volutsia Ave., 1338 N. Volutsia Ave., 1431 N. Volutsia Ave.,  2302 Mossman St.,  2317 E Random Rd., 1233 N Lorraine Ave., 4702 E Vesta Dr., 3812 E 13th St North,   5224 S Hydraulic, 1714 E Idlewild Dr., 1325 E Selma, 1213 E Selma, and  450 N Acadia.

Additional Public Housing inventory available for sale is listed on the City’s website at https://www.wichita.gov/1317/Available-Housing-Department-Properties, and detailed information on each of this weekend’s listings will be added throughout the week leading up to the open houses. Inventory may be added or reduced for each open house event as additional units are available for marketing or as particular units go under contract. Offers will be reviewed on a regular basis between open houses.

The City is listing these properties at fair market appraised value instead of traditional real estate market prices, making them more affordable for residents.
